Students

IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) is a holistic education that focuses on your child’s whole development. It is based on various trans-disciplinary themes and outlines specific subject-based goals that include social studies, art, math, reading, and science.

And Why IB PYP?

IB PYP programmes test a student’s individual progress and how your child understands the subject matter. On the other hand, the traditional textbook assessment compares a student’s performance to its peers’. Meaning, PYP assessments are based on your child develops and demonstrates his understanding. For that reason, PYP testing is more effective as compared to the traditional mode of testing.

PYP learning is, therefore, a continuous journey where teachers help students aged 3-12 years identify their needs. Further, the teachers monitor and provide an ongoing assessment, which helps determine the next step in the students learning.

  1. Prepares Students to Be Active

Students who undergo the IB PYP programs are known to be active participants and caring. They are similarly better at narrative writing, maths literacy, reading, and writing expository as compared to non-PYP students.

For a school to offer IB PYP programs, it should be authorized by the International Baccalaureate (IB). Hence it is first vetted to see if it meets the IB PYP education system.

IB PYP curriculum is similarly based on research. For that reason, students have to be active enough to pass assessments. This way, students always remain active researching on their subject matter, which too prepares your child to be independent.

  1. Enhance a Student’s Cultural Awareness

Students learn new languages. Language is the fundamental of smooth learning. It also adds to a student’s ability to express himself through writing, speaking, drawing, and acting. Students learn to communicate in different languages. And when learning new languages, your child learns other communities’ way of life.

  1. Enhances Each Students Social Life

Learning about other communities‘ cultures prepares them to interact with others regardless of their origin. Therefore, your child learns to live with people from different parts of the world by learning the six trans-disciplinary themes.

  1. Builds up student’s confidence

IB PYP programs build up confidence in students, crucial to a student’s performance in class and his career and social life.

Teachers usually ask a question and then randomly select a student of their choice to answer. It helps all students understand that each of them can come with an answer. This way, IB PYP engages all the students in the programmes and builds up their confidence to handle challenging tasks by themselves.

  1. Globally Recognized

IB PYP programs are recognized by almost all universities worldwide. For that reason, the system is ideal for students who come from families who are nomadic tourists as they can learn from any corner of the world. Your child can also be absorbed by any university globally.

For instance, a student undergoing an IB PYP program in the UK uses the same syllabus as a student in the US studying under the same Program.

Generally, the IB PYP has been thoroughly vetted and proven to be effective on all students. The system aims to help your child develop as an inquirer both in class and the real-life situation. That is why it is recognized and used in over 100 schools around the world.
